Responsible Tourism
SBA-Norðurleið has ambitions to promote sustainable development in tourism in Iceland. It is in our interest, like that of the Icelandic nation, that the country is not harmed by the influx of tourists. We are aware of the negative impact that the operation of buses can have on the environment, but we do our best to work as hard as possible to reduce it.
SBA-Norðurleið puts great emphasis on the fact that the company's activities support its vision in tourism, and are in harmony with society and the environment. We constantly look for ways to improve towards sustainability, and thus want to take responsibility for the impact that the company's operations have on society and the environment. Good service and the safety of passengers is a priority in the operation of SBA-Norðurleiðir. Contingency plans are present in all cars, in both Icelandic and English, but they must be followed in the event of an accident. A formal response team takes over in the event of an emergency.
It is important to us to:
- Demonstrate in action our responsibility towards Icelandic nature, environment and society.
- Respect the interests and reputation of Iceland as a high-quality destination, where professionalism, hospitality, good service and sustainability are paramount.
- Ensure the safety of our customers.
- Load manage the fleet at destinations.
